Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit this website and when you use the Stroved iOS app (“Stroved”, “we”, “us”). Stroved is built to be privacy-first: your focus data stays on your device, and we do not run accounts, sign-ups, or user tracking. We process data only in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

2. Scope

This policy covers two separate contexts: (a) this website, and (b) the Stroved app for iOS. The data processing differs between the two, so each is described separately below.

3. This website

Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA), who processes data on our behalf as a processor under Article 28 GDPR. When you access the site, your browser automatically transmits technical information that is stored in server log files, in particular the IP address of the requesting device, the date and time of the request, the requested resource, the referrer URL, and the browser type and operating system. This is based on our legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the website (Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Because Vercel is based in the USA, this may involve a transfer to a third country, safeguarded by appropriate measures such as EU standard contractual clauses.

Cookies, analytics, and tracking

This website is a static information page. It does not set tracking or marketing cookies, does not use web analytics, and does not embed third-party advertising or tracking services.

Contacting us

If you contact us by email, the data you provide (e.g. your email address and the content of your message) is processed solely to handle your request (Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR, or Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract).

4. The Stroved app

Data stored on your device

Stroved runs entirely on your device. Your focus sessions, statistics, streaks, selected categories, and preferences are stored locally and are not transmitted to any server operated by us. There are no accounts and no sign-ups.

iCloud

If you use iCloud, your app data may be synchronized across your own devices through your personal Apple iCloud account. This synchronization is handled by Apple within your own account; we have no access to it and do not operate any server involved in it. Please refer to Apple’s privacy policy for details on iCloud.

Analytics (TelemetryDeck)

We use TelemetryDeck for anonymous, privacy-first usage analytics. TelemetryDeck does not use cookies and does not collect IP addresses, and is operated within the EU in a GDPR-compliant manner. We only receive aggregated, anonymous data such as app version distribution, iOS version distribution, and general feature-usage patterns. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the app (Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Calendar data

If you grant calendar access, Stroved reads your calendar events locally on your device to display upcoming events. Calendar data is never stored by us, transmitted, or shared. You can revoke calendar access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.

Subscriptions (App Store)

Stroved Pro is offered as an in-app subscription. Purchases, billing, renewals, and cancellations are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or process your payment details.

No advertising or third-party tracking

The Stroved app does not integrate any advertising, social-media, or tracking services beyond the anonymous analytics described above.

5. Children’s privacy

Stroved does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

6. Legal bases

We process personal data on the basis of Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of a contract, e.g. providing subscription features), Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR (our legitimate interests, e.g. secure operation of the website and anonymous analytics), and, where applicable, Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR (your consent, which you may withdraw at any time with future effect).

7. Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by statutory retention obligations. Server log data is deleted or anonymized after a short period. App data stored on your device or in your iCloud account remains until you delete it.

8. International transfers

Where processing involves service providers outside the European Economic Area — in particular Vercel (website hosting) and Apple (App Store, iCloud) — such transfers are safeguarded by appropriate measures, for example EU standard contractual clauses, in accordance with Chapter V of the GDPR. Our analytics provider TelemetryDeck operates within the EU.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• access your personal data (Article 15);
• rectification of inaccurate data (Article 16);
• erasure (Article 17);
• restriction of processing (Article 18);
• data portability (Article 20);
• object to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21);
• withdraw consent at any time with future effect (Article 7 (3)).
